When Life Hands you Lemons, Make Lemonade

Pretty sure I didn't take ANY good pictures of this night!!!!  So I apologize in advance.

Anyone who is RS committee coordinator knows that it get a liiiiitle crazy night of.

But here's what I got:

Invitaions:  (blank copy HERE)

Poster for both sides of the foyers:

And dun dun dun... here's my awesome "night of picture taking":

We had a lemonade stand!!!!  For the dinner we ate chicken croissant salad, chips and fruit.  We provided the croissants as the RS and then had a sign up sheet for the chips, salads, and fruit.

I took this before the table covers.  Again, I know, I did an awesome job at taking pictures.  Yellow balloons were put as center pieces.

Lemon drops were on the lemonade stand.
 Lemon cupcakes for dessert.  Yum....
 and lemon bars!!!!

So we all met in the gym and ate first.  We then divided into 2 groups.  One group went to my lemony boutique lotion and then other went to make lemon bath bombs.  Then we switched.  Lastly we met in the RS room to talk about cleaning/cooking (you name it) with lemons.  We ended with a sister talking about trials and how to turned them into something positive (lemons to lemonade).  She did a great job.

Here's the recipe for my lemony boutique lotion.  Nothing fancy.  I had my display table so cute and I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  On Sunday, we passed around a sign up sheet if anyone wanted a sample (if they did they needed to bring a dollar with them night of).  I made a batch as the demonstration.
(-side note, I got the essential oil from Mountain Majestic Sage in Logan, UT.  They are awesome.)

If they wanted a sample, I put the lotion in a zip lock bag, cut a corner, and put a little into a little jewelry container I bought from Benions (or Joanne's).

Questions?  Let me know!

Here are random pics from the internet that inspired this night.  Maybe they will spark something for you too!

  1. Our committee loves all your ideas on this post! We're having a Garden Party in a few weeks and using this theme. Would you be willing to send me the file for your invitation? We love it so much and wanted to do something very similar. The funny thing is that we're also the 5th Ward! Let me know if you would be willing to share. rachelmartinez4@gmail.com

  4. I put a blank copy LINK of the invite where the Invitation is posted. Hopefully this helps :) For the lotion recipe, just right click the image and save it to a folder to your computer. You should be able to print from there (I use Word).
